1) New Year's Celebration Event — December 31, 2011
Robert and Grazyna Denny (members of Public Relations Committee and Exhibits Committee, respectively) organized a New Year's Celebration Event at the Fox and Fiddle Pub and Restaurant in Toronto to raise money for the DHI Conference 2012. Fifty-six people showed up to join in the celebration.
From this event, a total of $640.00 was raised for the DHI Conference 2012. Our thanks go to Robert and Grazyna for their amazing efforts.
2) Results of First Raffle Ticket Draw
Joanne Cripps, our Events Chair, coordinated the first sale of $5.00 raffle tickets (City of Toronto Licence #M683625) for our committee members and their friends/colleagues to sell and raise money for the DHI Conference 2012. The draw was held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 5 p.m. during our monthly Planning and Organizing Committees Meeting at the Canadian Hearing Society.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Joanne Cripps for coordinating the raffle draw, our committee members and their friends/colleagues who helped sell tickets, and to those of you who contributed to the draw and helped make the raffle sale a great success!
3) Spaghetti Night — April 14, 2012
Bev Dooley, Laura Henry and Bijaya Shrestha of the Interpreting Committee along with Joyce Lange and Anna Strati-Morrison of the Registration Committee organized a Spaghetti Night & Silent Auction event at Harmony Creek Community Centre in Oshawa to raise money for the DHI Conference 2012. Flyers were distributed (View flyer here).
About 60 people came to show their support. A total of $1,109.00 was raised that evening. After all expenses, the net proceeds for the DHI Conference was $542.50. The food was kindly contributed by Bev and Joyce.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Bev, Laura, Bijaya, Joyce and Anna for hosting this event.
4) Update on Individual Booster Donors — Ongoing
Committee members of the DHI Conference 2012 have been energetically seeking individual booster donors. This fundraising project, which is being organized by Clifton Carbin (our Conference chair), will continue until the end of the conference.
To date, $3,101.50 has been raised.
5) Boston Pizza Booster Night Toronto — May 7, 2012
The Deaf Culture Centre hosted a booster night event with some fabulous prize draws at Boston Pizza in downtown Toronto to raise some funds for the DHI Conference 2012 (see flyer attached). About 20 people joined for an enjoyable evening. A total of $185.00 was raised.
Special thanks to all the following volunteers from the first year interpreter-in-training program at George Brown College: Meagan Alkemade (organizer), Melissa Laister, Risa Corbett, Rachel Houter, and Kim Bourne. Also many thanks goes to our signing server, Jasmine who is a Boston Pizza employee.
Other Planned Fundraising Events:
1) 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sales, May, June and July 2012. This will be organized by Joanne Cripps, our Events Chair.
2) DHI Conference 2012 is hosting Boston Pizza Booster Nights in different cities between May and July to raise funds:
